East Carolina Club Ultimate frisbee

I attended my first ultimate frisbee practice at 5 o'clock after the first day of classes fall semester of freshman year. From that point onward, the sport has had a positive influence on my college experience and on my life overall. It offers a place for comraderie as well as competitiveness.

A typical week entials practice four days a week; Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Sunday and Wednesday nights are usuaully used for scrimmages and typically run from 6-8:30pm. Tuesday and Thursdays run about three hours and are used for more structured drills and practice time. These typically add up to a 12 hour per week time commitment aside fom driving to and from practice and spending time getting ready. This keeps my time structured and forces me to get homework and studying done around practice time. We play in the Carolina Conference and compete with some of the Nation's elite in UNC, UNC-W, as well as others like NC State, Duke, USC, App. State, and Clemson.

Has provided me with leadership opportunuies and the ability to grow. We were hit with sanctions and have been rebounding ever since. I served as Treasurer and currently serve as the President. We are hoping for a succeesful Spring Season this coming semester. As the current President and former Tresurer I have managed a budget of a couple thousand of dollars while also being responsible for both travel arrangements, hotel reserbvations, communcations, and much more. One of the duties of this position is creating and justifying a budget for the team to present to the Club Sports Department. I have attached a link to the presentation which I put together for last season below.
